Assets Manager's Fund Raising notes

Your job is to create a budget and a plan for raising the financial goals that you and your team leader have set.

A good financial plan is the key to a successful project.

Set up a bank account for the team that requires at least 2 officers' signatures present to deposit or withdraw funds.

Suggestions: Plan to raise money before the event, at the event and after the event.

Person to Person fund raising strengthens the team, is good publicity and is not dependent upon outside sources.

Below are some ideas for this.

Before the Event:

Once you have your marketing strategy worked out and decided who you will go to, as well as your marketing materials, such as flyers with photos, you can go to individuals and businesses in your local area and ask them to sponsor the event in exchange for appearing in the program. Give them plenty of time to consider. The more time you give them the better. Use email, telephone and face to face contact for the best effect. Emphasize that your event is: open to everyone in the public for free, that you are expecting large numbers of people to be there, and that there will be a fun festive family event with music and food. Start with finding food sponsors from local restaurants, and supermarkets. Once you have your food sponsors it will be easier to get others to support.

Start with individuals and organizations that have supported you and your organization in the past.

Make a small product and sell it person to person while telling them about the event. Hold a raffle or series of raffles where a portion of what is collected is given out as prize money and the rest becomes money for the team's budget.

Target groups in your area that may be looking for something unique to do and invite them to your event for free and ask them for a donation. Find groups that may be interested in a specially designed field trip activity.

At the event: Sell raffle tickets, sell products such as videos or instructional manuals on festive earthen building. Have a donation bucket.

After the event: Create products out of recording the festival to sell to the participants, such as recordings of the music, videos and instructional manuals on festive earthen building.
